What is iSucceed all about?

iSucceed began as a theme for Ascend's annual Day On The Hill event. We were inspired by a compelling study from the Brookings Institute that provides a positive formula for youth on their journey to adulthood. Findings from that study along with more recent research on Millennials confirms that one pathway into adulthood is the most viable course to avoid poverty and achieve health and life success. The Success Sequence is a pathway to avoid poverty that sequentially follows three steps: 1. Graduate High School, 2. Get a Full Time Job, 3. Wait Until 21 and Married Before Having Kids. The research is so encouraging, we decided to launch a campaign to share it with youth across the nation.

The Success Sequence works:

...regardless of race or socioeconomic privilege.

Youth risk only a 3% chance of living in poverty if they follow the success sequence, that is: graduate high school, work full time, marry before having children.

Marriage Matters

Marrying before having children more than doubles young adults’ odds of being in the middle or top income tier.
Even millennials from low-income families are more likely to flourish if they married before having children (71% compared to 41% who have children first).

SRA education promotes the Success Sequence

SRA education teaches a holistic approach to optimal health and healthy future family formation.
The Success Sequence = Graduate High School, Work Full Time, 21 and Married before having kids... in that order.
